Introduction

It is the second foreign country I have visited.

First time, in summer of 1990, together with my mom & my brother, we went on a one-day trip to Varna & Balcik.

Second time it was in 2004, when we crossed the bulgarian teritory from south to north, coming from Greece and going to Bucharest. We passed thru Sofia, Pleven and Ruse, stoping just once along the way for a meal.

Sofia ~ transitAugust 2004

Capital of Bulgaria, Sofia is also the largest city. Crossing the country by bus, returning from the european vacation that ended in Greece, we got to peak at the city from its outskirts. We didn't stop, nor did we get a chance to drive thru the core of the city.

Varna24 July 1990

Got my first set of souvenirs as a result of international travel: some postcards & the famous rose perfume.

Balcik24 July 1990

We briefly stopped in Balcik on our way to Varna and back. Being one of the famous resorts laying along the Golden Sands, we got a glimpse of the fun & the beauty that made these places famous in the entire Europe and beyond.

Pleven & Ruse ~ transitAugust 2004

Passed by both of these cities late at night on our way to the romanian border. Haven't crossed through, therefore haven't seen much of any ...
