Introduction

Spent an afternoon, starting by docking in Gdynia, then transiting Sopot in order to arrive in the old town of Gdansk, where we walked along the main square and relaxed on the impressive dock watching antique ships going in & out.

On our way to Gdansk, at some point we passed by Lech Walesa's house and also by one of the churches that John Paul II used to visit often when in Poland.

Gdansk9 May 2006

Being the main attraction of the area, we spent most of our time in Poland visiting this city. Our bus parked at the entrance of the old town, who's streets we strolled for a couple of hours. I went alone in the world famous Saint Mary's Church for about ten minutes. We spent some time on the dock before returning to Gdynia.

Gdynia9 May 2006

One of the three cities forming the Tri-City area, it is also the main port in the region. We docked here early in the morning, and got to see the city only by bus on the way to Gdanks and back.

Spent some time in the port, where merchants brought souvenirs from all over the country.

Sopot ~ transit9 May 2006

We have transited this small resort-town, sandwiched between Gdynia and Gdansk, and while doing that our polish guide let us in on the stories depicting the communist times in relation to this area.
