Vatican City6 August 2004

On the morning of August 6, 2004 right after we arrived in Rome by train, we started walking straight to San Pietro Square. After quickly passing through, we had to wait in line along the walls of the smallest country in the world for an hour, before getting inside the Vatican Museum.

Spent over 2 hours of leisure walks thru most of its galleries, taking photos & videos. Our unique experience ended with a visit to the famous Sistine Chapel. After exiting the museum, we had a nice lunch at a restaurant nearby, boasting with its location within the Vatican walls.

While some of our colleagues went inside the San Pietro Basilica, we chose to go around the square, and meet the Swiss Guards. Spent another half-an-hour by the Egyptian Obelisk (which is said to contain relics of the Holy Cross) right in the middle of the square, waiting for the group to gather together.

Next day, August 7, we come again to San Pietro Square, only to hang around while waiting for our bus, this being our arrival/departure point in Rome.
